Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) is Poland's only state-owned bank. BGK was established in 1924 during the monetary reforms of Wladyslaw Grabski. The primary business objective of BGK is to provide banking services for the public finance sector, in particular through the support of the government's economic programs, as well as local government and regional development programs implemented with the use of public funds, including those of the European Union.
