Life Insurance Corporation is the largest life insurance company in India. It was founded in 1956 and is fully owned by the government. It provides individual life insurance, group insurance and pension plans in the entire country. Its subsidiaries include Life Insurance Corporation of India International, LIC Nepal, LIC Lanka, LIC Housing Finance and LICHFL Care Homes.
